After testing an awesome fixed blade from Y-Start I decided to try their new folders too. It was a good decision because they managed to produce unique high quality folders at a budget price.
Pros:
- stylish & sturdy folders with an excellent fit and finish
- solid lock-up without any blade play
- comfortable micarta handle with good ergonomics
- useful bladeshape with a nice stone washed or satin finish
- definite jimping on the blade spine
- symmetrical blade grinds (which is not common in this price range)
Cons:
- I rounded the edge of the liner-lock bar with my Dremel to make it more comfortable to unlock
- The satin version needed a couple of days to break in (smooth opening / closing)
I found the clip on the stone washed version too shiny for my taste so I modded it. I think a mat grey clip suits this version better.
